South Queensland

It’s quite a long time since my last post. But it is not easy to find some time doing office work while you have this beautiful landscape in front of you. 🙂
After my stunning and busy time in Airlie Beach I drove along the coastline through Mackay to a simple and free camping area in Carmila Beach. There is only an outhouse but you stay directly on the beachfront. After a quiet night with sound of breaking waves I took a bath in the sea to get awake. My next stop was the beautiful Capricorn Caves before I got to Rockhampton the well-known city of beef and steaks. As it should be, I had a fantastic steak for lunch. The next stops on my travel along the coastline in Queensland were:

  • Agnes Water and 1770 (1770 is a village built on the side of the second landing point by Captain Cook in 1770)
  • Bundaberg (City of rum and sugar cane)
  • Hervey Bay
  • Maryborough (Birthplace of P.L. Travers, the author of Mary Poppins)
  • Rainbow Beach
  • Noosa Heads
  • Mooloolaba
  • Australia Zoo
  • Brisbane
  • Surfers Paradise

The best locations on this part were Mooloolaba, Australia Zoo, Brisbane and Surfers Paradise.

-> But know take a look on the pictures below, because you know “pictures say more than a thousand words”.
